All this hype about the set for the next Amityville movie got me to digging through my photos and I found these pics of the original movie set under construction back in 1979. I don’t recall who originally shared them over at the Amityville Forum but big thanks to them because these photos are great.

Just for the sake of comparison, here is the same house today.

As you can tell the house was rotated 90 degrees and moved a bit to make room for a new house next door. You can see how it originally looked in these satellite images.

You can see the house under the central watermark, the front door facing the 90 degree turn on Brooks Rd.

Part of the old driveway still exists, but leads to the new house next door. The garage didn’t move though, so it is a good point of reference.
