Greetings! Its been a while hasn’t it? Amityville related news has been slow going recently. A few things have popped up but nothing worth reporting…until today. The producers of the excellent film A Haunting in Connecticut have released a full length trailer for The Amityville Murders.

This movie started out as A Haunting on Long Island: The Amityville Murders. They’ve dropped the long title and just settled on The Amityville Murders. Eagle-eyed Amityville addicts will recognize the actress who plays Louise DeFeo as Diane Franklin who starred in the 1982 film Amityville 2: The Possession! Its nice to see her back for this new installment and she really looks like Louise DeFeo. It appears they made some effort to get the house right this time as well. Some of the interiors look a lot like the house from 1974. Well done!

The Conjuring 2 nailed Ronnie DeFeo’s bedroom a bit better than this film does sadly, but only freaks like me care about that sort of thing.

IMDB says The Amityville Murders will be in theaters on October 15, just in time for Halloween. That’s a Sunday so I don’t know how much faith I’d put in that date, but we’ll see. My gut tells me this will end up going straight to DVD/Digital like Amityville: The Awakening.
